Connecting a Stripe Account
Stripe is a PCI Level 1 payment service provider offering highly competitive payment processing fees, and used by millions of businesses and charities worldwide. To accept donations for your non-profit organisation via Visufund, you just need to connect a standard Stripe account - we'll handle the rest.
Here are some key features of Stripe:
- Donations are received directly into your Stripe Account, less fees
- Balances are automatically transferred to your bank using your preferred payout schedule (daily is default)
- You can run additional transactional reports
- Download invoices for payment fees
- Connect to other platforms with the same Stripe account
Creating a new Stripe Account
If your organisation does not have a Stripe account, it takes just a few minutes to create one at no cost:
- Login to your Visufund account
- Navigate to Org Settings
- In the Stripe Account section, click Create NEW Stripe Account
- Follow the on-screen prompts to supply information to Stripe
Using an existing Stripe Account
If your organisation has an active Standard Stripe account, the process is simply:
- Login to your Visufund account
- Navigate to Org Settings
- In the Stripe Account section, click Use EXISTING Stripe account
- Follow the on-screen prompts to login and authenticate your Stripe account for connection to Visufund. Please note: You must be the Stripe account owner or have an administrator role.
On successful completion of either option, you will be navigated back to the Visufund website, where you will see a message confirming connection success.
Good Standing
From time to time, Stripe may contact you to provide further information or documentation. These requests are requirements of financial regulation in your country; a timely response is imperative to keep your account in good standing. We therefore recommend that finance or senior management also have a user account on your Stripe, to receive and respond to these information requests. Your Stripe account may become restricted if required information is not supplied.
