On September 3rd, 2024, Honolulu City & County Mayor Rick Blangiardi officially declared September as Henry Kapono Foundation Month. Throughout the inaugural month, the HKF showcased Hawai'i’s rich musical talent and diversity employing over 50 musicians with over 30 special performances, community events, and exclusive fundraising activities.
Now in its second year, HKF Month returns with over 50 live performances, five signature concert events, the launch of new music, and three original video shorts. This year, HKF Month proudly presents the HITI Festival, a dynamic celebration that blends entertainment, cultural preservation, and philanthropy, building on last year’s success. The festival debuts new music series, welcomes new partners, and expands to new platforms, all while continuing to uplift the venues and artists who have long championed local music.
This celebration of music and culture is only possible because of the generosity and passion of our community. Community support fuels our music and education programs, empowers local musicians, creates meaningful work opportunities, and makes a lasting impact on Hawai‘i’s music industry. We invite you to be a Shining Star in the Henry Kapono Foundation ‘ohana.
