For many families that have experienced baby loss, the count down to this time of year can be especially challenging. While nothing will ever stop this being an incredibly difficult time for any bereaved parent, the act of doing something in memory can help enormously.
Our Winter Wishes allows you to do just that, to remember your baby or babies and name stars to shine in the Winter Wishes sky.
Not only will this enable you to remember your baby, but will enable us to support parents and their families and friends, who will sadly need our support, our memory boxes, our helpline over the winter and in to 2022.
We rely more than ever on the kindness and dedication of people that donate, fundraise and remember us in their Wills. These gifts of support literally save lives.
Every single penny that our Winter Wishes raises this year will help to support people affected by baby loss through our support services including our free helpline and bereavement support app, and our Sands Groups providing support in the community right across the UK.

Sands is the UK’s leading stillbirth and neonatal death charity. For over 40 years Sands has been the informed voice of bereaved parents and families and provided accredited bereavement and mental health support.
Sands exists to:
- Support anyone affected by the death of a baby for as long as they need
- Work in partnership with healthcare professionals, NHS and governments, to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care
- Promote improvements in practice and research to save babies' lives
Baby loss is experienced by many but spoken about by few. Sands is determined to break the silence surrounding baby loss, to reduce the numbers of babies dying and to reduce the isolation felt by families when the very worst does happen.
