Pregnancy and baby loss is a devastating and uniquely personal experience and for approximately 2,000 families a year at our hospital, it is a heartbreaking and challenging reality.
Ahead of this year’s Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October), we wanted to invite you to join us in making Woodland House a reality, whilst remembering all the precious little lives that have been lost at our hospital.
Woodland House will be a brand-new, purpose-built, centre away from the hustle and bustle of the main hospital, where families can spend time together in safe, secure and serene surroundings before they feel ready to face the world again.
Help light up our Memory Tree. For a donation towards our Woodland House Appeal. You can pick your very own sparkling light on our Memory Tree, which can be personalised with a special message to remember a loved one or as a dedication, supporting all of the precious lives lost.
Your support this October will help to make a real and lasting difference, moving us one step closer to bringing Woodland House to our hospital, and creating an environment that recognises and honours the loss of our bereaved families.

At Birmingham Women’s Hospital Charity, we are passionate about improving patient experience for all the women and families at our hospital.
Since the 1870s, we have been at the forefront of medical care for women and babies, and now look after more than 50,000 families. From opening the first premature baby unit in the UK to being the first hospital to have a dedicated colposcopy clinic to help diagnose and treat cervical cancers, we’re determined to continue improving treatment for everyone in our care.
We thank you for helping us to achieve our vision of better patient care, enhanced facilities and an improved hospital experience and a community that we are proud of.
