September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
The start of September is often a time of excitement when 'back to school' time arrives. Sadly, there are many children this September who may not be returning to school with their friends. This may be because they are undergoing treatment for cancer or they have sadly passed away.
In the UK, a child or young person is diagnosed with cancer every two hours. Survival rates of childhood cancer are improving, but there is still a long way to go.
This September, we would love you to help join us and raise awareness of childhood cancer.
All funds raised from this project will be used in the fight against childhood cancer which is sadly the biggest non -accidental cause of death of children in the UK.
This September, could you dedicate a ribbon to a child that has fought or who is fighting cancer? You could also dedicate a ribbon to a child has passed away.
If you do not know a child that has been affected but would like to help, why not buy a ribbon and dedicate it to a child you know that is not affected or simply to “help raise awareness.”
The ribbon can be any colour of your choice, but if you cannot decide, why not make it gold? It would be wonderful if we can turn our tree gold, the colour associated with childhood cancer awareness month. By working together, we can achieve so much more in the fight against childhood cancer.
Because the children of today all deserve a tomorrow.

The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust was set up in memory of Grace, who passed away at the age of 4, from a rare form of childhood cancer. Grace left behind a wish to help other children. Through her legacy (and now the legacy of a number of other children too), we are working to support so many other children. We are dedicated to fighting childhood cancer, the biggest medical cause of death of children in the UK.
The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust is a small but growing charity with much of its work central to Worcestershire. We were founded in 2016 in Worcestershire, Grace’s hometown, and it is here that we remain based. We do carry out national work too in terms of awareness and funding research, but we are dedicated to helping support our local children with cancer too.
Childhood cancer is not as rare as many may think. It affects 1 in every 500 children before the age of 15.
