By sponsoring a light or decoration on our virtual Christmas Tree, you are celebrating the life of a loved one whilst helping us to continue providing high quality, compassionate care to our patients and their families.

A dedication to someone you love will be placed here virtually and in our Book of Remembrance at our services at the hospice and at St. Peters and Pauls Church, Crosby.

St Joseph's Hospice was founded in 1962 by Father Francis O’Leary, while working as a young priest in Pakistan.

The hospice in Thornton opened in 1974. It is the oldest and largest hospice on Merseyside and has been providing palliative and end of life care for adult patients from across Liverpool, Sefton and West Lancashire for 50 years.

We provide specialist palliative and end of life care, complementary therapy and bereavement counselling to hundreds of patients their loved ones every year. We are a registered charity and all our care is free of charge.

We have 31 patient rooms and are fortunate to be located in a beautiful setting within a conservation area and 12 acres of natural woodland.
