Christmas can be unbearably difficult and sad for anyone affected by the death of a baby. These valuable Gifts of Support received via our virtual Lights of Love page will help us ensure all our bereavement support services are available to anyone one who needs them this Christmas and into 2018.
The death of a loved and much wanted baby is absolutely devastating at any time of the year, but perhaps even more so at Christmas. With so much focus on celebration and preparation, the thought of celebrating Christmas can be anything but a celebration for anyone whose baby has tragically died.
Sands understands the significance and impact of these deaths. Through our free support services which includes a Helpline, Family Support packs and Memory boxes, UK-wide network of support Groups, and an online forum, we can be there to offer comfort and support whenever it is needed.
Across the UK 15 babies on average will die each day. During December alone, over 450 babies will be born and will not go home for Christmas. So many families’ lives for ever changed. The effects on the whole family, as well as friends, colleagues and health care staff are far reaching and in so many cases life-long.
Your Light of Love donation will help towards ensuring that these vital services will continue to be available to everyone who needs them long after the glitter has faded.
