This Easter, show your solidarity with Christians around the world by lighting a candle and sharing a message of love.
While we are currently required to stay indoors on a temporary basis to protect our health during the Coronavirus crisis, for many Christians keeping out of sight can be a matter of life and death all year round.
In some countries, Christians are threatened, attacked or worse because of their faith. Young Christian girls are often kidnapped and forced to convert to other religions. In some places, certain forms of Christianity are forbidden and those who practice their faith risk being sent to jail.
Prisoners of Conscience is here to help. We provide financial and practical support to people who have been persecuted. We provide them with food and shelter, cover the cost of legal fees and help families stay together.

We help keep human rights defenders and their voices alive.
People who are brave enough to stand up for what they believe in can face a variety of persecution. They may lose their jobs and access to public services; be barred from participation in social and cultural life; be harassed, bullied, intimidated, threatened, abused, jailed or forced to flee in search of safety.
Since our inception in 1962, we’ve provided rapid financial assistance to more than 10,000 prisoners of conscience and their dependants and distributed more than £4m. This funding ensures immediate relief, rehabilitation, resettlement and requalification at the time of greatest need.
