Street Paws is a non-profit organisation that was founded in 2016 with the aim of providing free and accessible veterinary care and support services to pets of homeless people in the UK.
We strive to bridge the gap between animal and human welfare services. Ensuring that pets are not left behind in the fight against homelessness. To support the wellbeing of pets and their owners
experiencing homelessness.
Our Vision - To support the wellbeing of pets and their owners
experiencing homelessness
Our Mission - To provide free vet care for people experiencing homelessness. To protect the human animal bond by keeping
pets and their owners together wherever possible.
Demand for our services is ever growing due to the impacts of cuts to public funding, rising private rents, limited social housing and cuts to housing benefit. Research has shown that many owners have been asked to give up their pet in order to get accommodation. Homeless people will rarely agree to go into a hostel without their pet –choosing instead to remain in extreme vulnerability and depravation on the streets.
Street Paws has made significant strides in improving the lives of pets and their owners, and has expanded services to various locations throughout the UK. The organization has become a beacon of hope for many homeless and vulnerable pet owners, and has demonstrated that with compassion and dedication, it is possible to make a positive impact on the lives of those who need it most.
