Scott’s appreciation run - ELHT&Me

At the age of 13 I started with horrible pain in my hip, nobody knew what it was and I needed to stay in Blackburn Hospital so they could help me and do lots of tests. It was very frightening and difficult for me because I was young and I have autism. After many investigations I was diagnosed with arthritis and looked after by ELHT and Alder Hey. I started injections in May 2020 which have stopped my hip pain, I am so happy about this. Before lockdown I volunteered Witton Park Run, I couldn’t run due to pain. Since park run restarted I have been pain free and able to run getting better with practice, I’ve also completed couch to 5k progression program in autumn. Blackburn 10k 2021 will be my first timed race, I am very excited to run.
I turn 18 next year and need to move to adult services so I would like to raise some money for the paediatric unit who have helped me so much over the last few years. I would not be able to run without their help, it is my way to say thank you.
