Ramsey Rural Museum is run entirely by volunteers and has been open since the 1970's. Not only do we preserve local history, but we run tours, talks and events to make sure the history of Ramsey and the surrounding area is available for all to enjoy.

Ramsey Rural Museum is a registered charity that is run entirely by volunteers.

The museum was started in 1977 and we welcomed our first visitors in 1983.

We are situated in a peaceful rural setting on the edge of the market town of Ramsey, on the site of a 17th century wood yard, which was built within the boundary of the 10th century Ramsey Abbey.

We specialise in the farming, agricultural, social history, trades and working life of Ramsey and the surrounding area of Cambridgeshire, concentrating on the period 1800 to 2000 AD.
