Every Christmas tree tells a story — and this year, ours is one of hope, dignity, and community.
At Rainham Foodbank, we believe no one should face hunger or hardship alone. Every bauble on our Tree of Hope represents a gift of kindness that helps someone at crisis point — and supports them beyond it.
When you add your decoration to the tree, you’re not just giving food. You’re helping us tackle the causes of poverty through our More Than Food initiatives — restoring dignity, reviving hope, and transforming lives.
You can dedicate your bauble to a loved one, share a message of support, or simply shine a light for those who need it most.
This Christmas, let’s fill our Tree of Hope with compassion and care — one bauble, one story, one act of kindness at a time

We have been supporting the community with emergency food since 2011. We believe that no one in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis.
In recent years we have been developing our 'more than food' projects - aimed at tackling the underlying needs of the emergency food parcels. We now also offer:
• Benefits and advocacy
• Debt support
• Counselling for adults and children
• Befriending services
• English for refuges
• Sewing sanctuary
• Skills building (i.e. CV writing, interview skills etc)
• Employability
• Breakfast club and fresh food Fridays
Our goal is to ensure that every person that walks through our door can access the help they need in order to restore dignity, revive hope and transform lives.
