On 17th September, our team had the privilege of spending a volunteering day with the Rose Road Association. During our visit, we rolled up our sleeves to help with tasks such as tidying, labelling, cleaning and sorting Lego. We were also given a tour of the facility and learned about the incredible work they do to support children and young people with complex needs.
Beth, one of the staff members, shared a touching story: last Christmas, the team paid for their own festive dinner so they could celebrate alongside the children. This act of kindness truly reflects the deep commitment and strong relationships the staff have with those they care for.
Running these vital services is costly, with much of the funding going directly to charitable activities. Rose Road relies heavily on donations and fundraising to maintain and enhance its services, supporting goals such as emergency overnight stays, sensory room improvements and seasonal celebrations like the Christmas dinner we heard about.
We’re raising funds to make this Christmas truly unforgettable for the children at Rose Road. Every donation will be matched by Quilter, doubling the impact and helping us create a festive experience they’ll cherish. Around 20 young people will take part, each at a cost of £50, which includes their support worker. Anything you can contribute will make a real difference and is greatly appreciated.
