This Christmas, more cats than ever are coming into our care.
Rising living costs have left many families facing heart-breaking choices, and we’re seeing a surge in much-loved cats needing a safe place to land. They arrive confused, frightened, and missing the homes they once knew.
In our shelters, Christmas is about warmth, routine and reassurance. Full bowls, gentle care and time to rest and begin again.
Your support helps us be there when it matters most. It helps us keep our doors open through winter and give every cat the comfort, dignity and safety they deserve while they wait for their next chapter.
We know times are tough. If you’re able to give, you’re helping turn loss into hope, and making a cat’s Christmas wish come true.
Thank you for your kindness, today and always.
Our branch is a separate registered charity to the main RSPCA and we are responsible for raising all the funds we need to run our operations. Our Animal Welfare Officers go out into the community 365 days a year to help animals most at risk and in need and to bring them into the safety of our care.

Every year, RSPCA Central London Branch rescues over 1200 of the most abused, neglected and at risk animals from some of the most deprived areas of London. Our two animal centres in Holloway and Enfield are always full to bursting and we have a long waiting list of animals desperate for help. Our Animal Welfare Officers operate 365 days a year in the community picking up animals in urgent need.
There was a huge increase in pet ownership during the pandemic lockdowns but many people now find it impossible to keep those pets. This combined with the cost of living crisis means our resources are overwhelmed with unwanted and abandoned animals.
We are a separate registered charity from the main RSPCA and rely on the generosity of Londoners to donate stock for our 9 charity shops which keep us afloat. We also need permanent and foster homes, particularly for adult cats.
