LCYCT 2021 Gift Appeal - Project Youth Cancer

LCYCT 2021 Gift Appeal

With your kind help and support we will ensure every young cancer patient, spending their Christmas day in a hospital bed, will receive a special gift.
Sadly the hospital restrictions remain due to the pandemic, but, each gift we will send is greatly needed and they are wrapped with care and love.

A Youth Support Coordinator said:
I am now in my tenth year working here and Christmas can be a strange period for our teenagers, both those who are inpatients as well as patients who and in and out for daycare treatment over the holiday period. This isn’t just relating to their treatment either - for us being part of a children’s hospital and having so much of the Xmas program catered to paediatric patients as well as so much of the donations and gifts also falling into that category, the harsh reality is that it can often feel like our young people can be totally forgotten. As has been the case for most of my time in post I am usually scrambling around in December trying to find appropriate gifts we can give out for the TYA patients. Throughout my whole time in post (and before that with my predecessor) we have always relied so much on your kind donations every year, the latest of which I’m happy to say arrived yesterday.
The gifts you provided are way more than we could have hoped for and will be absolutely ideal for our patients. Thank you so much for still managing to do this for us this year with all the chaos and financial implications Covid-19 has had on the voluntary sector. It will make a huge difference and will be appreciated by the TYA patients so much.

Due challenging times we must ensure these young people are not forgotten.

£10 will help us purchase games/tools of distraction to give a moment of relief from the brutal reality of their treatments.

£15 will purchase an on-line gift voucher to give our patients an opportunity, whilst in hospital, to buy themselves a treat or something they are needing.

£25 will help pay for a box ready to send to our teen and young adults filled with age appropriate goodies.

£500 will ensure Santa can deliver all the gifts throughout the UK to young cancer patients who are in the fight for their lives.

You can help us make a vital difference and help ease the feelings of loneliness and isolation endured by these young people.

We thank you for your support.

Did you know?
Every Christmas, hundreds of teen and young adult cancer patients spend their Christmas in hospital undergoing harsh and invasive treatments. They can’t be with loved ones, but thanks to your support, they won’t be forgotten.

We make sure each young person in hospital receives a special gift, something just for them, to show they are seen, supported, and never alone.

This act of kindness brings light and hope at the hardest time of year, and we can’t do it without you.

Help us put a smile on a young person’s face this Christmas.
With your support, we can make a very difficult time a little brighter.
