Garden of Memories - Eden Valley Hospice

The hospice gardens this year have been able to offer some much needed calm, focus and fulfilment whilst other challenges have been going on in the world. I suspect our gardens, along with window boxes and indoor plants, are looking rather splendid at the moment given that most of us have spent more time than usual at home tending to them.

Whilst the world seems to have slowed down, our care teams continue to offer the compassionate, personalised and dignified care to local people with life limiting illnesses and their families. The demand for hospice services is still here and we’re doing everything we can to help families spend precious time with each other.

Here at the hospice, all patient rooms have access to our own beautiful and calm gardens. At a time when visiting numbers have been restricted due to coronavirus, the gardens have played a vital part in giving families the opportunity to visit their loved one at a safe distance, allowing the opportunity to create cherished memories and allow for goodbyes which sadly so many other families have been missed out on.

The Garden of Memories in Bitts Park has also been a focal point of much of our thoughts this year. Given everything we have all coped with this year, it is still in full bloom. Unfortunately, we are unable to host our memorial events in the garden this year, but we hope you will join us by taking part in the below initiative.

Cherished memories and the chance to say goodbye, whilst receiving high-quality hands-on nursing care, are so vital to both the local patients and families that are cared for here. This is only possible due to the kindness of donors just like you. Please, if you can, donate to ensure this continues.
