On 13 April 2025, I'm going to be running 10K through the Mersey Tunnel from Liverpool to New Brighton.
I've chosen to raise money for Street Vet for a very simple reason: their mission is to protect the human-animal bond, keeping pets & owners together wherever possible. They do this by providing veterinary care for those experiencing homelessness across the UK... which means that more people can keep their pets healthy and well, even when they are going through hard times.
As you probably know, I am a big pet person. I adore my two cats more than anything! I cannot imagine the pain of having to give them up, for any reason.
So, with that in mind, I'm inviting you to share a picture of a pet that you love and make a donation to support a wonderful cause. Any pictures you share, or donations you make, will help to reach the finish line with a big smile on my face... THANK YOU!

StreetVet is an award-winning national charity offering free and accessible veterinary to pets belonging to owners experiencing homelessness.
It all started in 2016 with two vets and a backpack full of veterinary supplies, swapping the practice for the pavement to support people experiencing homelessness care for their loyal companions.
StreetVet has now grown to be a national charity with a team of 364 volunteer vets and vet nurses outreaching in 24 locations across the UK. We have now supported over 3000 pets – dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, birds and even a tortoise.
A few years ago, we founded the StreetVet Accredited Hostel & Day Centre Scheme on the belief that nobody experiencing homelessness should have to face the horrible decision of giving up their pet in order to access safe accommodation and support. Through the scheme, we support people and pets to transition off the streets and into safe spaces together.
