Twins Archie and Jacob Digby

This Christmas, you can help save lives with Magpas Air Ambulance

Make donation today and help more people like Molly. Molly was only 28 weeks pregnant with twin boys, Archie and Jacob, when she went into labour in January of this year.

When the call came in to us, we were told that paramedics had reached Molly but that the babies were in critical condition. Critical Care Paramedic Steve Chambers and Dr Adriana Cordier landed near Molly’s home in Bedfordshire twenty minutes after receiving the call.

The paramedics at the scene were doing a great job and Molly was incredibly calm and strong but it was clear that the babies needed specialist neonatal care as quickly as possible. With no time to spare, they travelled in convoy to give the boys the best possible chance of survival.

The safest route to the hospital was by road. Steve and Adriana were taking care of Jacob, when he started having trouble breathing, and going blue. To save him they had to act quickly.

Thankfully, they had a special kind of valve, which allowed Jacob to breathe better.

Knowing what to do at a time like this thanks to training, skill and experience. But having that valve to hand was thanks to kind people like you, who help ensure our crews carry the kit that can save the life of a tiny premature baby like Jacob.

A donation of £35 could help purchase a PEEP valve to support a child who has difficulty in breathing, like Jacob.

The emergency care Molly and her babies received that day saved their lives. And as you can imagine, this Christmas will be a very special one for Molly and her family.

Will you help support this vital air ambulance service by making a generous donation today? Together, we can be there when lives are in danger and time is running out.

Best wishes for a happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year,
From the Magpas Air Ambulance Team
