Established in1990 as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, the CHIME Institute’s mission is to alter the educational landscape so that all children, including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, receive equal opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and physically. We strive to break down the barriers that historically have prevented children with disabilities from participating as full members in the general education classroom by serving as a successful model of inclusion. An ethical and social justice framework supports the merits of inclusive education for all children, as does prominent academic literature and empirical evidence.
