2022 is a special year for our charity as we celebrate 15 years since the charity was established on 25 April 2007.
We have come a long way since the idea for a children’s hospice service for Berkshire first came into being at John and Fiona Devine’s dining room table in Windsor.
However, this journey is not ours alone to tell. We share it with hundreds of people who became a part of our story along the way – people who have supported us, championed us, helped us build a much-needed children’s hospice service, worked for us, volunteered for us and also been supported by us.
We are inviting all who have been part of our journey to share their story and inspire us as we look to the next 15 years and what we hope to achieve.

Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service is a local charity that provides specialist care and lifeline support to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families, across Berkshire and into surrounding counties.
We currently support over 150 children and their families, but we are committed to growing our service and reaching out to every child and their family that needs us.
Our holistic approach is bespoke for every child and family in order to provide the best possible care and support that they need. Whether it is at our children’s hospice in Maidenhead or out in the community in a family’s home, hospital or school, we can offer: Respite Care, Specialist Play, Symptom Management, Family Support, End of Life Care and Bereavement Support.
We are almost entirely reliant on donations, fundraising and gifts in Wills to meet the £2.3 million cost of running our vital service each year.
