Can you help us solve our laundry room puzzle? We all know the effort that goes into our laundry at home; dividing colours, pairing socks, and folding each garment, it can become quite the puzzling process! Now imagine that on even bigger scale, imagine washing 60 towels a day for over 30 dogs. Here at Hope Rescue, that is what our staff and volunteers must do to maintain a high level of hygiene and comfort for our dogs.
We have done the maths in our puzzle and it costs us an average of £1,000 a month to run our laundry room. This includes the cost of water and electricity – our washers and dryers are spinning for 8 hours a day!
How can you help?
We have created a jigsaw puzzle of Alfie wrapped up in his cosy towel, after a fresh wash. Alfie came to us as a stray in January 201. He was very scared, and it took time for him to put his trust in our staff. Once he did, he showed himself to be a very lovely and happy chappy! Alfie was rehomed but unfortunately, he had to come back to us after his owner’s circumstances changed. Alfie is still with us. He is still rather worried, relying on his doggie friends for confidence. Despite all of this, Alfie is a firm favourite with the staff and will continue to be until he finds his new home.
Alfie is one of many dogs that benefits from our laundry room facilities daily. Help us continue to help dogs like Alfie, to keep warm and dry and donate for a piece of our puzzle today.

Since 2005 Hope Rescue has been saving the lives of stray, abandoned and unwanted dogs that, through no fault of their own, need a second chance. We commit to take all the stray dogs from six Local Authorities in South Wales - Merthyr Tydfil, Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Vale of Glamorgan and Rhondda Cynon Taf - irrespective of their age, breed or medical condition. We also help owners in crisis who need to surrender their dogs, giving them peace of mind that their dogs will be rehomed responsibly.
